Description In this course will be treated: The study of the forms of tafsir that have arisen during the periods that have passed tafsir from the time of the Prophet (sas) to the present day. The meanings of the words tafsir and ta'wil. Tafsir and sources of tafsir in the time of the Prophet (sas). Tafsir and sources of tafsir in the time of the Companions. Tafsir in the time of the Tabiin; tafsir and isrâilijâti; Tafsir movements after the period of the tabiin. The first tafsirs and their impact. Study of authors who have written about the development of literature in parallel with this. Topics underpinning the methodology of tafsir, examples of the role of tafsir in the understanding of the Qur'an.
Objectives 1. Assessing the periods that the science of tafsir has gone through starting from the time of the Prophet (p.b.u.h). 2. Addressing the topics of tafsir methodology and presenting some works in this field. 3. Examining with examples the role of tafsir in the understanding of the Qur'an.

1The revelation of the Qur'an and its recording. This topic deals with the ways and forms of the coming of divine revelation, the states of the Prophet (s.a.s) while receiving the wahi, the scribes of the wahi, the stages of revelation. This topic also deals with the wisdom of the revelation of the divine revelation piece by piece, how the writing of the Qur'an and its multiplication took place. Edit. 2The science of tafsir, definition, object, purpose and basic concepts. This topic will address the definitions of some basic terms such as: Tefsit, ta'wil, translation, meâl, mufessir, what is their theme, purpose and importance. Differences between these concepts will also be addressed. Edit. Bahattin Dartma, Tafsir Tarihi ve Usulü, Eskişehir: 2013, p.56-79.
3History of tafsir: the period of the first two generations; The Prophet (s.a.s) and the Companions. This topic will first focus on the ways of tafsir during the period of the Prophet (s.a.s), then will analyze the methods of interpretation of the Qur'an used by the Companions. The general features of tafsir during this period will also be described, the sources on which the Companions relied during the interpretation, and the names of the most prominent Companions who have dealt with tafsir will be mentioned. 4History of tafsir: the period of the second and following two generations; from the tabiuns, etbau't-tabiiuns to the present day. This topic will address tafsir in the period of the tabiun, the schools of tafsir during that period, and the peculiarities of the interpretation of the tabiun. Tafsir will also be treated in the period of the etbau't-tabiiun to the present day, mentioning some very important personalities of the science of tafsir who have made valuable contributions to the writing of the works of tafsir. 5Types of tafsir: Traditional and interpretive. This topic will analyze the two types of tafsir, the traditional and the interpretive. Definitions for each species will be given, their historical development and the characteristics of each will be shown. 6Tafsir schools. In this topic will be treated the classical and modern schools of tafsir. They will be given their definitions, the types of tafsir for each of the schools, the reasons that led to the birth of each type along with their characteristics, and some works that have been written for each type of tafsir. 7Classification of Quranic sciences. This topic will specifically explain the classification of the sciences of the Qur'an and the subdivisions of each science. Edit. Bahattin Dartma, Tafsir Tarihi ve Usulü, Eskişehir: 2013, p. 157-230.

9Historical Sciences: Causes of Revelation and Stories in the Qur'an. This topic deals with the causes of the revelation of verses, the types of causes of revelation and the benefits of learning these causes. 10Historical Sciences: Repeal of the verses and the Israelites. In this topic are treated the arguments of abrogation, its types. 11Linguistic sciences: Foreign words in the Qur'an, mubhematu'l-Qur'an and mujhmal-mubayn This topic deals with foreign words illustrated with examples from the Qur'an. It also deals with the reasons for mubham in the Qur'an, the topics on which kq explanations without details (mujmal) and detailed explanations (mubayn). Edit. 12Linguistic sciences: Figurative expression, examples and oaths in the Qur'an. In this topic will be treated the types of language sciences, part of which are also figurative expressions. The types of figurative expressions used in the Qur'an illustrated with examples and oaths in the Qur'an will be addressed. Edit. 13Semantic sciences: Muhkem-muteshabih and interrupted letters. The verses are treated semantically in this topic. The reasons for the existence of the two types and under the divisions of each illustrated with examples from the Qur'an. Edit. 14Semantic sciences: Mushkilu'l-Qur'an and ijazu'l-Qur'an. In this topic it will be explained what is mushkilu'l-Qur'an, the reasons for its birth among the Qur'anic verses.
