BLESSED DAYS AND TIMES IN ISLAM / 1- Fasting and Health

        The panel event was hosted by “Hëna e Plotë” (Bedër) University. The event took place on Thursday 18 July 2013 in the conference room. The panelists were Elton Karaj and Sabri Raza. During the month of Ramadan Muslims eat a pre-dawn breakfast and do not eat or drink anything until dusk. The panelists elaborated on the physiological effect of fasting which includes lower of blood sugar, lowering of cholesterol and lowering of the systolic blood pressure. In fact, Ramadan fasting would be an ideal recommendation for treatment of mild to moderate, stable, non-insulin diabetes, obesity and essential hypertension.
