Religion is a Created Feeling in Human Nature

This topic was titled with “Religion is a Created Feeling in Human Nature” and it has been given for students of the Department of Islamic Sciences. In the beginning of his speech he explained the hadith “Every child is born upon natural instinct (fitrah) to worship the Lord and Creator alone. He emphasized the importance of being a theologian in private in Albania in general in the world. Than he elaborated on the nature of religion as something being most suitable for the nature of mankind as being the best of creations. In the end of his speech he spoke of the importance of being thankful for the blessing of Allah the Exalted in both individual and social life.

A TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR IMAMS (ISLAM AND COMMUNICATIONS IN PUBLIC) / 3- Islam and Communications in Public (the Region of Bulqiza, Dibra and Burrel )

This training programme took place in 15.11.2014. The objective of the training programme was to provide knowledge and communications skills for community-based issues. The training program has been joined by many religious official such as the Deputy Head of Muslim Community of Albania, Muftis and Imams from Region of Bulqiza, Dibra and Burrel. The Imam training program was organized into 2 sessions. The programme was as followed: 1- Zarfi Rizal Quran Recitation. 2- Welcome Speech of the director of the center Dr. Atakan Derelioğlu. 3- Welcome Speech of the deputy head of Albanian Muslim Community Bujar Spahiu. 4- Greeting speech of Mufti of Dibra Muiz Kurtulla. 5- Speech of Ramadan Çipuri “The Art of Communication in Public". 6- Coffee Break. 7- Speech of Head of the Department of Islamic Sciences Dr. Selman Kuzu “Methodologies of the da’wa in Islam. 8- Speech of Muhammed Mutevelli, “Qualities of Da'iyah (caller to İslam) and İslamic methods of Da'wah (invitation)” 9- Elton Karaj “Presentation on İntroduction to the Department of İslamic Sciences". 10- Hysni Skura “Presentation of BEDER Center of Islamic Studies” 11-Ceremony for the Distribution of Certificates. 12- Lunch

THE CONCEPT OF INFĀQ (SPENDING IN THE CAUSE OF ALLAH) IN ISLAM

Conference was titled: ''The Concept of Infāq (Spending in the Cause of Allah) In Islam''. The conference has been organized by BEDER Center of Islamic Studies (BECIS) on Wednesday 28 May 2014. The speaker was the director of BEDER Center of Islamic Studies (BECIS). He emphasized the importance of Infāq and it’s winder meaning in the Islamic tradition since the advent of Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) till our modern times as a religious custom passed down generation by generation.

CONTEXTUAL VALUE OF MUSLIM COMMUNITY

Seminar was organized by BEDER Center of İslamic Studies (BECİS) on Thursday 15. 05. 2014 for İslamic Sciences students. The Speaker was Prof. Dr. Adnan ASLAN from Turkey. He focused on the thoughts of Alasdair MacIntyre giving examples from his book called “After Virtue” to explain the contextual value of Muslim community. He emphasized the concept of character and community inspired by the approaches of MacIntyre as a basis of moral behavior.

SEMINARS ON HISTORY OF RELIGIONS / 2- Islamic Movements In America and Bayan Claremont

BAYAN Claremont: An Islamic Graduate School at Claremont Lincoln University Jihan Turk: President of BAYAN Claremont. Seminar has been organized by BEDER Center of Islamic Sciences (BECIS) on Friday 9 May 2014. The Seminar was titled “Islamic Movements in America and BAYAN Claremont”. The speaker Jihan Turk elaborated on popular Islamic movements widespread in America such as nation of Islam and spoke of some important Muslim figures such as Malcolm X. He also talk about BAYAN Claremont and its curriculum, activities and their staff. He also additionally mentioned the requirement for enrolment in the University as a graduate student for master degree.

SEMINARS ON HISTORY OF RELIGIONS / 1- Catholic Approach To Christology

BEDER Center of Islamic Studies (BECIS) hosted a professor and the director of Institute of Philosophy and Catholic Theology of Shkodra on Wednesday 7 May in the Senate hall. They have given a seminar concerning Christology for two periods addressing the Islamic Science’s students. There were also a question and answer session which was fruitful moment for the audience. The gests later have been warmly accepted by the Rector of BEDER University Mr. Ferdinand Gjana and the Dean of Humanities Faculty Mr. Ayhan Tekines in their rooms respectively.

PRAYER AND THE BLESSED THREE MONTHS IN ISLAM

BEDER Center of Islamic Studies organized a panel to welcome coming blessed times in the Islamic calendar on Wednesday 30 April 2014. The panel has been titled mainly with “The Blessed Times”. The specific title peculiar to this panel was “Prayer and The Blessed Three Months in Islam”. There were three panelists who are: Omer ÇALIŞ: The director of Madrasa of Tirana “Haxhi Mahmud Dashi”. His topic was about “The concept of Prayer (Dua) in Islam”. Bujar SPAHIU: The Deputy Head of Muslim Community of Albania. His topic was about “Three Blessed Months”. Dorian DEMETJA: Director of Human Resources. His topic was about” The Blessed Days and Nights in the three Blessed Months”. The panel attracted the attention of students from different departments. This panel has become a warm welcome of BEDER family for the coming blessed times.

LEARNING STRATEGIES FOR EFFECTIVE EDUCATION

This seminar was given in 16.04.2014 by Muhammet Mertek. He talked about the history of Learning Strategies and their implementation into real life cases. He gave some examples of learning techniques in which learners could retain more information for effective education. There were also a question- answer session in which students received valuable strategies for translating the strategies into reality.
